The beauty of the Ceiriog Valley – quite apart from its exceptional landscape – is that it is only 90 minutes at most from major centres like Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester, less than an hour from Chester and Telford and just a rinky, dinky hop, skip and a jump from the nearby towns of Wrexham, Llangollen and Oswestry.
That makes Cygnets just about the perfect country pub lunch or dinner stop after exploring some of the awesome attractions we have right on our doorstep. These include the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct World Heritage Site, Llangollen International Eisteddfod, Llangollen Steam Railway, and the ancient iron age hillfort in the lovely little market town of Oswestry amongst many others.
Click on the links for information and directions to Cygnets Restaurant at the Swan Inn, Pontfadog.
As you enter the village of Pontfadog at the 30 mph zone (please slow down this area is regularly monitored by our PCSO!) you will see a small park on your right. Approximately 50 yards (yes, we still work in old money) further on you will see the village Post Office run by Phil and Mandy. Cygnets at the Swan Inn is just off the main road to the right.
There is plenty of parking in the car park immediately after the Post Office on the left hand side.
Mobile Network
Orange EE is the only mobile phone network that works in the valley! You are very welcome to pop in to Cygnets to use our phone should you need to… provided you’re not calling overseas!
